Champagne Joseph Desruets

Cuvée la Bacchus

The House Desruets established its vineyard on terrains of exceptional quality. Using traditional methods and century-old knowledge, the Desruets family has worked hard since the 19th century to produce the best champagnes. The family-owned vineyard was founded in 1888 in Hautvillers, in the village where Dom Pérignon discovered champagne. Today, Matthias and Thomas Desruets are the 5th generation who continue the tradition. From one generation to the next, the house harnesses its ancestral knowledge to obtain wines of peculiarities and flavors to make a unique champagne.

Tasting notes

It is by selecting the best vintages that we made our Cuvée La Bacchus. Bottling only 3200 units, our grapes came from sustainably farmed old established vineyards of Hautvillers to guarantee an exceptional quality. With a blending of 70% Pinot noir, 20% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier, we aged our wine for 48 months minimum.

The senses

A nice golden and bright colour accompanied by an intense and persistent effervescence.

Our cuvée La Bacchus had a rich and complete nose of candied fruit, fine pastry and sweet spices.

A rich champagne, round with layers of quince jelly, apricot jam, ripe nectarine and blood orange. The finish is long and fresh with vanilla flavours.

Recommendations

The Bacchus is the perfect side dish with main course such as a pigeon in sauce with morels or truffe-based dish, slow roasted pork belly, seared tuna steak or duck confit.

Serve at 8-9°C.
